FDA approves powerful new opioid in 'terrible' decision
Despite strong opposition, the FDA approved a powerful new opioid, Dsuvia, last Thursday. FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb claims they will use lessons from the existing opioid crisis to place tight restrictions on the distribution of this new drug. Opponents say Dsuvia's approval poses a serious danger to the public, as even small doses can be fatal. Dsuvia is approved for use in military combat and other emergencies, to treat intense pain from acute injury.
