Carter’s doctors have administered him a drug labeled pembrolizumab, which has just recently been federally approved. According to Dr. Walter Curran, the drug does not aim to cure the cancer, it is purely to make President Carter more comfortable, and under the circumstances, lead a higher quality of life. Melanoma the most serious form of skin cancer, has now been found in four spots in President Carter’s brain, and in addition, is extremely rare to find internally rather than externally on the skin. The primary source of his cancer has yet to be found.
My mother has always had nothing but great things to say about the 39th President of the United States. It was a professional relationship that allowed her to see a glimpse of his global footprint and a personal relationship that allowed her to connect to him as a father, grandfather, author, and advocate for the underprivileged. As he prepares for his annual Carter Town Hall Meeting tonight, Wednesday, September 16th, in which he discusses both political and personal items, and even answers questions asked by those in the audience, the Emory Community grants nothing but good wishes and best luck for President Carter and his family.
