According to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation report on Workplace Wellness programs, in 2015 approximately 19% of companies, referred to as firms in healthcare analysis, with Workplace Wellness programs require or offer BMI measure as part of their assessment. Five percent of these companies offered financial incentives to meet physical health goals, with 87% using BMI as a key indicator of health status. Although this is not a large proportion of companies, recent headlines have noted that measuring health via BMI is unreliable and often places certain groups at a disadvantage.
