This semester Destination HealthEU is fortunate to have two dedicated students helping write, organize, and edit the blog through a Directed Reading opportunity. Today, we'd like to introduce these students, whose names you can expect to see in many bylines this semester: Jackie Glodener and Hannah Heitz.

Jackie Glodener

Jackie Glodener is a junior at Emory College. She was born and raised in Georgia, and both sides of her family are Russian. She is majoring in Human Health with a pre-medicine pathway. Her two most rewarding college experiences, include studying abroad in Paris and being part of Camp Kesem Emory. In her spare time, Jackie enjoys jogging, cooking, and listening to NPR podcasts.
She likes to incorporate her knowledge of nutrition in creating inspired, healthy meals. After college, Jackie plans on going to medical school. She hopes to use her passion for health to improve many lives in the future.

Hannah Heitz

Hannah Heitz is a sophomore from Nashville, TN studying Psychology and Human Health at Emory University. Her interests include Positive Psychology, Spanish, and Global Health. She is currently involved in Flourish! Emory and the Office of Health Promotion’s Happiness Boot Camp Program, which will focus on improving the lives of students in a rigorous academic environment by utilizing principles of Positive Psychology.

Hannah also serves as Special Events Coordinator for the Emory Undergraduate Global Health Organization (EUGHO), which promotes awareness of global health issues on campus through events and fundraisers. She is passionate about working with the refugee community in Atlanta after completing the Ethics and Servant Leadership Program during the summer of 2014 and continues to volunteer with an after school-tutoring program.
In her free time she enjoys journaling, cooking, exploring restaurants around Atlanta, reading, and practicing Pilates. She is not yet sure of what she wants to do in the future, but it will definitely involve travel and a focus on mental health and holistic well-being cross-culturally. She in interested in pursuing further education in public health or counseling and applying that knowledge to improve well-being within underserved populations. She is thrilled to be a part of the Human Health Blog team and contribute to the amazing work that has already been done.

Destination HealthEU is excited to welcome Jackie and Hannah to the team!
